Karen Sisley, an educator with the Asthma Foundation Queensland (AFQ), has been running education sessions in the community for the past 5 years. As a result of funding an asthma workshop will be held in the Rockhampton and Yeppoon areas specifically aimed at educating sporting groups.
It is extremely important that referees, coaches, volunteers, and committee members are all aware of the importance of understanding asthma first aid and the necessary precautions that need to be taken when players and referees suffer from asthma. Check out the workshop flyer here!
The workshops will run for 1 hour with AFQ hoping representatives of many different sporting groups attend so that follow up sessions may be held with individual clubs at a later date.
Committee members, coaches, officials and support staff of sporting organisations are encouraged to attend one, or both of the sessions:
PCYC Sports Recreation Centre, Matthew Flinders Drive
Tuesday 4 February 2014 - 7:00pm start
PCYC, Bridge Street
Saturday 15 February 2014 - 8:30am start
If you have any questions, or would like further information please contact Karen Sisley on 0438 269 438 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
