It’s that time of year where we try and set New Years Resolutions and more importantly we try and keep them. Searching the internet is useful, however, most sites identify the top ten popular resolutions, but don’t always provide a local means of achieving these resolutions.

The ten most popular resolutions for 2013 include:
1. Eat healthy and exercise regularly
2. Drink less
3. Learn something new
4. Quit smoking
5. Better work/life balance
6. Volunteer
7. Save money
8. Get organised
9. Read more
10. Finish those around the house “to-do-lists”

If you’re having trouble setting your resolutions or trying to stick to them then Rockhampton Regional Council can help you KickStart your resolutions.Let’s start with resolution number 1 -  Eat healthy and exercise regularly.

Often the biggest problem is finding something that you enjoy and will keep you active at the same time.
If you’re not sure what that something is, the Lane 4 Aquatics 2013 Sports and Health Expo may have the answer.

Held on Sunday 3 February the expo is set to feature over 60 stall holders offering information on everything to do with sport, recreation and health.

From local sporting clubs, to gyms, health service providers and retailers, the expo has everything you need to KickStart your New Years Resolution.

Chair of Council’s Sport and Recreation Committee, Cr Cherie Rutherford said the expo was perfect for anyone who wanted to get active but wasn’t sure where to start.

“It’s a great way to find out what is available within our Region to eat healthy and be active, and how you can KickStart your New Years Resolution” Cr Rutherford said.
