Rockhampton is known for producing talent on the hockey field with numerous Australian players first stepping onto the turf here.  Members of the Park Avenue Brothers Hockey Club are excited to welcome back one of these players, Kym Ireland, as coach and mentor for players.

Kym Ireland, who represented Australia in the first women’s Olympic hockey team in  Los Angeles during the 1984 Olympics, has joined the club as Senior Men's Coach as well as mentor for all coaches and players.

“As a club, we are looking to provide the best guidance for our players of all ages.  Kym brings with her a wealth of experience, skills and knowledge to our club” explained Peter Lawrence, president of Park Avenue Brothers Hockey Club.

Anyone interested in playing Hockey is welcome to head along to the club sign on. Held at the clubhouse in Kalka Shades, Water Street on Friday 15th from 5pm you'll be able to meet members of club and try the game. You can also make the most of  the Rockhampton Hockey Association's 'Get into the Game' on Sunday from 9am.
