Emu Park local, 11 year old Lucy Busby has enjoyed amazing success in the pool at the recent Queensland Primary School Swimming Championships. She's put the cherry on top of an already great season with selection in the Queensland Primary School Swimming Team and will represent her State in the upcoming National School Swimming Championships in Melbourne.

Growing up on the Capricorn Coast it is hard not to love the water, and over the last 5 years Lucy has developed her skills in the pool with expert training from Connolly Aquatics at the Don Ireland Swimming Complex. Lucy is excited at the opportunity to compete on the National stage and is dedicated to reaching her goal of making it to, and placing in a final.

Lucy’s achievements this season are as follows:
• Best by CQ 10 year old 100m freestyle record (short course)
• Best by CQ 10 year old 100m individual medley record (short course)
• CQ 10 year old 100m freestyle record (short course)
• CQ 10 year old 200 freestyle record (short course)
• CQ 10 year old 100m individual medley record (short course)
• Best by CQ 10 year old 200m backstroke record (long course) – this record was previously unbroken for over 30 years
• CQ 10 year old 200m backstroke record (long course)
• CQ 10 year old 400m freestyle record (long course)
• CQ 10 year old 200m Individual medley record (long course)
• CQ 10 year old Girls Age Champion
• Queensland Primary School Swimming Team selection
