The Rockhampton Pistol Club (RPC) will be opening its new Air Pistol Range on Sunday the 19th of April.
This new indoor air range takes the club to an international standard allowing for future competitions and an increased shooting experience for club members.
Club President John Walters says there were many people within the community and members whom have greatly assisted in this major step for the RPC.
“We would like to thank the Rockhampton Regional Council, Sports and Recreation Queensland and those who have donated either time or materials,” said Mr Walters.
“The aim of the RPC is to promote a safe and enjoyable environment for all pistol disciplines. Be it for fun, training or serious competition and this is a great new facility for everyone to enjoy.”
Attending the opening of the new range will be Melissa Findlay Queensland Sport & Recreation Services Advisor, Pistol Shooting Queensland President Michele Sandstrom and Councillors Tony Williams, Rose Swadling & Cherie Rutherford.

Established in 1962 the Rockhampton Pistol Club currently consists of approximately 80 members and over 3000 people access the facilities annually. RPC members attend recreational shoots every Sunday and Thursday mornings from 9am – 12pm and new shooters are always welcome. Members shoot a range of disciplines in addition to Air Pistol such as Standard Pistol, Rapid Fire Pistol, Centre Fire/ Sport Pistol, Free Pistol, IPSC Matches & Service Match.
