The date has been set for 2012 and the count down is on for Saturday, 15 December 2012!

While local families and friends can still expect the fantastic celebration of the festive season they’ve come to know and love, Rockhampton Region Acting Mayor Councillor Tony Williams said there’d be a bit of a difference this year with a new venue.

“This year’s Carols by Candlelight will be held at the Rockhampton Heritage Village,” Councillor Williams said.

“I look forward to seeing this venue transformed to reflect the spirit of Christmas and am sure this year’s event will be better than ever.”

Lit by a sea of candles, audience members will be entertained by local singers and musicians as they perform a magical evening of carols and Christmas songs. The new venue will provide a unique setting for Carols.

But don't expect the people on stage to do all the work there will be plenty of carol singing from the audience.

Acting Mayor Councillor Tony Williams said he was looking forward to Carols By Candlelight and the entertainment it will bring.

"Carols by Candlelight is a great time to come together with family and friends, celebrate Christmas, and enjoy some of our local talent" he said.

Entry to the event is by gold coin donation, with proceeds going to The Umbrella Network Rockhampton.

The Umbrella Network is a unique organisation that gathers information about services available to families within the Region. Their main aim is to be the connection between families and the services that are available to them within our community, and offer education, friendship within a well connected group.

Refreshments, program and safeflame candles will be on sale during the event.

All residents are asked to SAVE THE DATE today for Saturday, 15 December 2012 7pm.
