Council’s Communities Committee Chair Councillor Rose Swadling said with a number of free and affordable activities on offer across our Region parents and carers will find something to keep children of all ages entertained.

“There’s something for all tastes on offer at Council’s venues throughout the school holidays,” Cr Swadling said.

“Enjoy a trip with the family to the Rockhampton Zoo, Botanic or Kershaw Gardens, or take the kids to the Heritage Village and step back in time.

“Rockhampton Riverside Park will be showing Madagascar 2 on Friday 28 June and Yeppoon Main Beach will be showing Yogi Bear on Friday 5 July.

“Don’t forget to visit our heritage rail attractions at Archer Park and the Mount Morgan Rail Museum in your list of things to do.

“The skate parks, playgrounds and barbecue areas across the Region are great to get the kids outdoors. And don’t forget our beaches, national parks and gardens are beautiful at this time of year.

“For those who want to stay indoors there’s an animation workshop at the Walter Reid Centre and our libraries are offering workshops on knitting, dancecraft and art along with fun games.

“It’s easy to entertain the littlies and older ones with our great activities, so wherever you live across the Region, there’s always something wonderful and fun to do!”
