The program provides funding of up to $25,000 for eligible organisations within areas declared under the Queensland Government Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements in relation to damage caused by ex-Tropical Cyclone Oswald and associated rainfall and flooding.
To be eligible, your organisation must:
be located in an area declared under the Queensland Government NDRRA within Queensland
due to the declared disaster event have suffered damage to sport and recreation equipment or infrastructure as a direct result of the declared disaster event
be an incorporated not-for-profit sport or recreation organisation
comply with the insurance requirements below, and must not:
be eligible to receive or have already received Government assistance or QRAA
assistance for the items claimed under this program; or
have or be able to, or the responsible third party has or is able to, acquire appropriateinsurance that would cover the damage caused to items claimed for under this program
be able to demonstrate current tenure over the infrastructure and have the legal right to conduct works on the site that has suffered damage as a direct result of the declared disaster event, if requesting support or mitigation works to damaged infrastructure.
Eligible sport and recreation organisations in the local government areas below can request funding to:
replace equipment and operational items (including office and canteen equipment); and/or
repair/restore damage to sport and recreation infrastructure; and /or
mitigate the effect of future damage due to a similar natural disaster event, to damaged sport and recreation infrastructure.
Important dates to remember: 11 February 2013 - applications open 10 May 2013 - applications close 15 November 2013 - completion of program and final acquittal
Please note that not all applications may be successful. Projects demonstrating the highest need in terms of re-establishing sport and recreation activity will take precedence.
