After 6 - 8 weeks of school holidays, Christmas and New Year and the back to school rush, many parents are already thinking about what sports and activities that they can put their children into to keep them occupied throughout the year.

The Lane 4 Aquatics 2013 Sports and Health Expo is the perfect opportunity for parents within the Region, to bring their children down and find out what wide range of sporting programs are available within our Region.

There are over 70 exhibitors in this years expo, and parents and children will be able to get involved in a number of different demonstrations and talk to local sporting clubs such as Runaways Netball Club, Gracemere Little Athletics, Rockhampton Formula K Kart Club, Rocky Trials Club, Austswim, Rockhampton Hockey Association, Junior Rugby League and so many more.

Chair of Rockhampton Regional Council's Parks and Recreation Committee, Councillor Cherie Rutherford says this is a perfect opportunity to find out all the information in one simple location.

"The Lane 4 Aquatic 2013 Sports and Health - Fastest Person Competition, which for those who are up to it, can see how they rank compared to others within our community.

The Fastest Person Competition is a 40m sprint, and categories include Open Men and Open Women, Junior Boys and Junior Girls. Winners from these categories will compete in a handicapped final at half time at a CQ Capras home game.
