The JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes will be held on Sunday 10 November 2013 in Merv Anderson Park (where the Ross Creek markets are held) in Yeppoon. All proceeds from the Walk will go to JDRF an organisation dedicated to funding research strategies to cure, prevent and improve treatment of type 1 diabetes. The Walk will start at 10:00am with two distances to choose from – the short walk is 1.83km and the long walk is 4.2km.

Register or donate to the walk:

  • Register yourself or your team online by clicking here.
  • Or donate to Team T1DCC by clicking here. All donations over $2 are tax deductible and you will receive an email receipt to claim on your tax return.

Join us after the Walk with activities for the whole family to enjoy - a fundraising sausage sizzle and cold drinks, balloon art, face painting, Just Jan Karaoke, The Coffee Chick who will have her coffee van there for anyone needing a “coffee fix” and Pick a Duck Amusements who will have their jumping castle and pick-a-duck for the children’s entertainment.

There will also be an exhibit by the “Historical Motor Cycle Club of Qld Inc. – Rockhampton Area” who will have pre 1983 bikes on display and Sha’Waz Dance Troupe who will provide a display of fusion-style dance including belly dancing.

We really appreciate your support and donations for this cause. For more information on the Yeppoon Walk please contact Katie Mitchell on 0429 01 5454 or via email at t1dcc@yahoo.com.au.
