Rockhampton Regional Council wants to hear your thoughts, ideas and issues, so if you’re between 15 and 29-years-old then come along to the 2014 Youth Forum on 18 November 2014.

The Youth Forum is an opportunity for our Region’s young people to contribute to the future direction of the Rockhampton Regional Council area.

Deputy Mayor Councillor Tony Williams said our next generation will be the driving force behind how our region develops and evolves in coming years.

“It’s very important to listen to our younger generation - their vision and ideas now could one day be a reality and help position Rockhampton as a vibrant, buzzing and connected regional city,” Cr Williams said.

“I’ll be attending the forum along with other Councillors, so there will be every opportunity for participants to share their views and raise any concerns they may have.

“We will then collate and present the feedback to Council for consideration, with the longer term aim of driving youth events going into 2015.

“It is a very exciting time for our Region, so we’re strongly encouraging our young and enthusiastic minds to come along with some fresh ideas and concepts to ensure our Region remains on track for success.”

Come along and make a difference – share your views, ideas and issues on the following topics and any additional topics you feel are important:

  • Planning for the area – what ideas do you have for our Region from the CBD to Mt Archer?
  • Facilities – what youth facilities could be provided or improved?
  • Communication – what are the best methods for two-way communication with Council?
  • Events – what events would you like to see?
  • Tourism – what opportunities exist and how should Council promote them?
